Photo session break, 1998
Found an ooold photo I (Sathonys) made during a break while having a photo session in 1998 ;) Left to right: Akaias, Matthias, Hyperion, Vampallens (Marcel / Nocte Obducta), Marko....
Sulzbach 1996: Akaias steps in
Almost exactly 29 years ago, we played an instrumental set at Sulzbach, Germany because our vocalist Vlad was stuck in Romania- we only had time to ask a friend to fill in on one song, Tristetea Vehementa. That’s when Akaias stepped into the band. What was meant as a temporary solution became a permanent one for the next years… Btw, left to right: Hyperion, Marko, Sathonys...
Bucharest 1998: working on Higher Art Of Rebellion
Sathonys living the rockstar-life in Romania, 1998. This was Vlad‘s apartment in Bucharest, where we worked on many songs of “Higher Art Of Rebellion”. Look at that high-end workstation in the background (where also a few rounds of Master Of Orion 2 were played). Trve....
Our first rehearsal room
Akaias, Marko and Hyperion in our cozy, first rehearsal room. Photo taken by Sathonys, most likely in 1998. Back then, we shared the room with Atrox, a hardcore band from Mainz. Fun fact: At that time, Sathonys was also playing bass in Nocte Obducta. Many years later, Atrox‘ bass player Heidig joined them and is still with Nocte today....
25 years of Higher Art Of Rebellion
25 years of „Higher Art Of Rebellion“. Seems like yesterday that we travelled to Bucharest to record our 2nd album! Well, to celebrate it a bit- I found some liner notes, written at the time of release, by our vocalist Vlad. (Left to right in the first pic: Marko, Vlad, Matthias, Sath) Here are the opening lines, I’ll have to cut as the text is too long.. „To revolt and to succeed is a fine art, an exquisite piece of human demonstration of power, intelligence and non-obedience. It’s like unfurling the storms that have been gathering for many years within......
Fraureuth 2000, tour with Siebenbürgen and Graveworm
Old pic from 2000, taken in Fraureuth/Germany, during our tour with Siebenbürgen and Graveworm. One of the few gigs that featured Vlad on vocals, plus you’ll see Shoggoth of Insignium in the background, who also helped out as Akaias was facing some court trials and couldn’t join on some dates....
Von Yanesh in his natural habitat
Our bass player Von Yanesh in his natural habitat. Don’t miss our gig in Würzburg this weekend, if you can attend! Pic by Fani Nadki....
Sathonys at Vega Rock, Spain, 2005
Sathonys in February 2005 at Vega Rock, Spain. Sure, long hair is a temporary thing for men, thanks to nature. But did you even grow, bro?...
Near Dark demo, March 1997
Our 2nd demo „Near Dark“ actually was released in March 1997, classic lineup featuring (left to right) Matthias (d), Hyperion (g), Marko (b), Sathonys (g) and Vlad (v, k). I was wondering if we should go for a limited release (200?) on audio tape, this time professionally printed and manufactured from the original audio master (back then, I/Sath copied all tapes manually). What do you think, would you be interested in getting it? Let us know!...
Sulzheim, 06.09.1996
Pic was taken 06.09.1996 (nice date) at Sulzheim, the first gig we had with Akaias on vocals, back then as a temporary replacement for Vlad, who was denied a return to Germany after he travelled back to his home country Romania....
